MIDDLETOWN, DE -- The Temple men's golf team shot a 15-over 299 to finish second behind host Delaware (295) at the Scotty Duncan Memorial, played Sunday, April 23, at Back Creek Golf Club.  Junior team captain James Boose paced the Owls once again, carding a one-over 72 to place tied for third on the 7,014-yard course.

The tournament was originally slated for 36 holes, but was shortened to a single round, as inclement weather prohibited play on Saturday.

Freshman Justin Masters performed well in just his third collegiate event, posting a 75 on Sunday to finish tied for 14th in the 57-player field.  Fellow newcomers Kevin Busteed and Adam Pifer placed tied for 21st with 76 efforts.  Freshman Pat Rugg rounded-out the Cherry & White scorecard with an 86 to finish tied for 55th.

Eleven teams competed in the event.  Monmouth finished in the show position with a 300 total and Wesley placed fourth with a 301 team score.  Delaware's Joe Mclister won the individual trophy, shooting a two-under 69 to best Wesley's Tyler Smith by one stroke.

Temple, under the direction of second-year head coach Brian Rogers, returns to the links at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Championships, to be played May 5-7 at Orange County National Golf Club in Winter Garden, Florida.
