MASTERS NAMED A-10 GOLF ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple freshman Justin Masters has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Golf Rookie of the Week.  The Scranton, Pa. native shot a four-over 75 to finish tied for 14th place at the rain-shortened Scotty Duncan Memorial on Sunday, April 23.

Masters' performance helped the Owls to a second place finish at the 11-team tournament, their best showing thus far this spring season.  It marked just the third collegiate event for Masters, whose 75 marked a career best in Cherry & White.  He has played five rounds this spring and has an 80.0 stroke average.

Temple returns to the links for the 2006 A-10 Championships, to be played May 5-7 at Orange County National Golf Club in Winter Garden, Florida.
