TOWSON, MD - The Temple golf team shot a two round 625 (312-313) to finish 22nd at the Drew Upton Memorial Tiger Golf Classic, held April 1-2, at Great Hope Golf Course. Junior co-captain James Boose carded a six-over 150 (74-76) to pace the Owls and finish tied for 54th on the par 72, 7,047-yard course.
Freshman Patt Rugg was the team's next best performer, placing tied for 85th in the 115-player field with 10-over 154 (80-74). Sophomore A.J. Tomasello (t-105, 77-82=159) and freshmen Adam Pifer (t-110, 81-81=162) and Justin Masters (114, 83-86=169) comprised the rest of the Cherry & White scorecard.
Richmond won the 22-team Classic with a 576 (283-293) score, finishing five strokes ahead of second place Western Kentucky (581). Liberty finished in the show position with a 582 effort and boasted the individual champion as Andrew Turner captured the crown with a 138 (72-66).
Temple, under the direction of second-year head coach Brian Rogers, returns to the links at the Princeton Invitational, April 8-9, at the Springdale Golf Club.
