DAWN STALEY RECEIVES TEMPLE HOSPITAL'S DIAMOND AWARD

PHILADELPHIA- Temple head women's basketball coach Dawn Staley was presented with the 2006 Temple University Hospital Auxiliary Diamond Award at the Hospital's annual Acres of Diamonds Gala held Saturday night at the Westin Philadelphia.

The Temple Hospital Auxilary established the Diamond Award in 1991 to honor a friend of Temple Hospital each year at the Gala. With this award, the Auxiliary recognizes individuals and organizations for the social responsibilty to both the human family at large and the Temple family in particular.

Past recipients include Stephanie Stahl, Howard Gittis, SmithKline Beecham, Richard J. Fox and Marvin Wachman, Ph.D.

Staley was honored for her accomplishments on the court, on the sidelines and her work with the Dawn Staley Foundation.
