LUCIW, WARRICK SHARE WOMEN'S CREW MVP AWARD

PHILADELPHIA -- Senior team captains Ulana Luciw and Nicole Warrick shared the Most Valuable Oarswoman award at Temple University's women's crew banquet held on Tuesday, May 16. The two Owl rowers were part of the Varsity 8 crew that placed second at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Women's Rowing Championships.
Head coach Tim Hagan also announced the co-captains for the 2006-07 Temple women's crew team at the banquet. Steph Hanlin and Rachel, both of whom will be seniors next year, will lead the Owls. The two were members of the Varsity 8 with Hanlin, who received this year's Inspiration Award, serving as the boat's stroke.
Other awards handed out at the team banquet were as follows: Jessica Herrmann (Frosh/Novice Award); Kristen Herrmann, Carolina Kelley and Emily Smith (Coach's Award); Laura Altimari (Rookie of the Year); Kristen Herrmann (Academic Award); Lauren Fattori (Most Improved); Sarah Evancho (Dedication Award); Luciw and Warrick (Captains' Awards); Evancho, Kristen Herrmann, Kelley, Luciw, Smith and Warrick (Four-year Oar Awards).
