Philadelphia, Pa - Natalie Mell fired nine shots toward the Drexel net but was unable to convert as the Temple women's soccer team fell 4-0 to the Dragons on Sunday evening at Vidas Field. With the loss, Temple falls to 1-4, while Drexel improves to 1-3. Drexel's Sherriann Steadman set the pace with a goal and assist, and Aleka Yiantsos tallied a goal and two assists.

The Dragons got their first two goals from Heatherrae Steadman and Jaclyn Barrett. Heatherrae Steadman, who took a pass from Yiantsos, put it past goalkeeper Tiffany Kasunich 17 minutes into the match to get the Dragons on the board. Drexel's second goal came three and half minutes later when Barrett booted a 25-yarder straight into the corner of the net.

Sherriann Steadman and Yiantsos picked up the pace before the break, and each scored a goal and tallied an assist. Temple picked up the pace in the second stanza and created opportunities to score, but couldn't seem to find the back of the net. The Owls had eight corner kicks and a penalty kick in the final 30 seconds, but Dragon goalkeeper Kaitlin Bond finished with seven saves to preserve her shutout. Temple's Kasunich recorded four saves on the night.

The Owls outshot Drexel 19-10 and had eight corners to the Dragons' two.

Temple is back in action on Friday, September 15th when they host Manhattan at 4 p.m.
