ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Temple golf team shot a two-round 607 (297-310) to finish 14th at the Navy Fall Invitational, played Saturday and Sunday, September 9-10, at the United States Naval Academy Golf Course. Senior Logan Terry (74-74) and sophomore Adam Pifer (72-76) paced the Owls in their first event of the fall season, carding six-over 148's on the par 71, 6,611-yard course to finish tied for 30th.

Loyola shaved four strokes off its opening round score (290-286=576) to win the 15-team tournament. The Greyhounds moved up from a fourth-place tie with St. Bonaventure to claim the title over Winthrop (289-289=578) and Penn (292-286=578) by two strokes. Loyola's Blake Ferguson staged a run at the individual title by shooting Sunday's low round with a 2-under par 69, but North Dakota State senior Eric Johnson earned medalist recognition by defeating Ferguson in a play-off.

Freshman Eric Plisko carded an 11-over 153 (74-79) in his first collegiate event in Cherry & White to place tied for 54th in the 95-player field. Junior Kevin Busteed (t-82nd, 77-81=158) and sophomore Justin Masters (94th, 85-89=174) rounded-out the Temple scorecard.

The average score for the tournament was 75.75, as 168 rounds were shot above par, 14 at even par and just eight below par.

Temple, under the direction of third-year head coach Brian Rogers, returns to the links at the Towson Invitational, September 18-19, in Myersville, Md.
