MYERSVILLE, MD - The Temple golf team shot a two-round 610 (299-311) to finish 12th at the Towson Invitational, played September 18-19 at Musket Ridge Golf Course. Senior James Boose (73-78) and sophomore Adam Pifer (73-78) paced the Owls, carding seven-over 151's to finish tied for 31st in the 76-player field.

Boston College won the 13-team event with a 577 team total, which included a tournament-best round of 282 on Monday. Saint Joseph's finished nine strokes off the pace with a 586 (289-297) effort and host Towson earned the show position with a 591 (297-294). Tiger senior captain Jeff Castle captured medalist honors with a two-round total of 139, edging Jan Prokop of BC by one stroke for the title. Castle fired a 70 in the opening round and carded a 69 in the second round. Prokop, a freshman from the Czech Republic, carded the lowest round of the tournament on Monday with a 67. He fired a 73 on Tuesday to finish as the runner-up.

Temple sophomore Kevin Busteed shot a 10-over 154 (76-78) to place tied for 45th. Senior Logan Terry (t-60th, 81-77=158) and Paul Amess (t-63rd, 77-82=159), competing in his first event in Cherry & White, rounded-out the team's scorecard.

The Owls sat in sixth position after Monday's opening round, but dropped six spots after carding a 311 on Tuesday, the second highest team round of the tournament next to La Salle's opening effort of 331. The Explorers placed last in the field with a 627 score.

Temple, under the direction of third-year coach Brian Rogers, returns to the links this weekend at The McLaughlin, hosted by Saint John's, at Bethpage Country Club in Long Island, N.Y.
