Temple Wins Three Matches at UNC Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, NC - The Temple men's tennis team won three of four singles matches on the first day of competition at the UNC Invitational. The Owls will continue play at the Invitational through Sunday.
"This is a great start to the weekend as the field is highly-competitive," said second-year head coach Steve Mauro.
Junior Philip Gegenheimer won his match over East Carolina's Mike Catalano, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Pavlos Stephanides downed Eric Claggett of Charleston Southern, 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore Nathan Spunda bested Alex Fridzon of Wofford, 6-3, 6-3, while freshman Gonzalo De Villa lost to William Ademy of North Carolina Greensboro, 6-2, 6-4.
