Temple continues its success in conference play beating Rhode Island, 3-0, with game scores of 30-21, 30-23 and 30-21. Ying Sun Ling had a productive match, racking up 14 kills and a team- high 22 digs against the Rams.
Senior Yue Liu led Temple with 15 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Patricia Vernon played a solid match, adding nine kills and four blocks at the net. Helping the Owls win their third conference match, junior Christina DeMarco had six kills and three blocks along with freshman Glory Epelle's five kills and one block.
Rachel Bello led the Rams with 13 kills and Ivy Zuidhof helped with 10 kills and seven blocks. Temple out-hit the Rams 49-40 to continue its winning streak.
The Cherry and White improve to 3-1 in conference play, 9-8 overall, while Rhode Island falls to 4-14 (1-1 in the A-10).
The Owls take the floor again Tuesday, October 3 at home against Bucknell at 7:00pm.
