Philadelphia, Pa.-Temple (14-4, 4-0 A-10) returns home hoping to keep its winning streak alive when it hosts Rhode Island (4-14, 2-2 A-10) on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The game is the second half of a men's and women's double header, with the Temple men's team taking on URI at 2 p.m. The game can be heard live on The Big Talker, 1210 AM WPHT with Kristen Foley and Kevin Bonner calling the Conference match-up.

This is the 45th meeting between the Temple Owls and the Rhode Island Rams.  Temple leads the series, 30-14, and have won the last four meetings. The teams last met on February 26, 2006, when Temple defeated URI, 91-79, at the Ryan Center.

Fatima Maddox scored 21 points and Kamesha Hairston added 19 more as Temple survived a tough Massachusetts squad, 63-59, on Thursday night at the Mullins Center. Maddox was three-of-seven from long range and dished a team-high five assists to give the Owls their 10th straight win. Lady Comfort grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and had a career-high four blocks to pace Temple's defense. LaKeisha Eaddy added five assists, five rebounds and five points, while Shenita Landry gave an unbelievable defensive effort, diving for loose balls at every chance she could.

Hairston leads Temple in scoring and rebounding, averaging 21.2 ppg and 9.3 rpg. Comfort is second with 12.5 ppg and 6.4 rpg. Maddox is third, averaging 12.2 ppg. Eaddy continues to put up great numbers, with the guard fourth in scoring (7.3 ppg) and first in assists (72).

Rhode Island guard Safi Mojidi scored 11 points and dished out four assists but it wasn't enough to deny #11/13 George Washington from picking up the 61-45 victory over the Rams Thursday. URI out-rebounded the Colonials for the game by a 43-33 margin, including an 18-8 advantage on the offensive glass, but only scored 10 second-chance points on 28.8 percent shooting for the game.

Mojidi leads the Rams in scoring (14.7 ppg) and assists (62), while Jessica Magley, Tanja Licina and LaQuanda Branden are all tied with a team-best 3.8 rpg.

Familiar Faces
Rhode Island's coaching staff features two former members of Temple's team. Associate Head Coach Ervin Monier was an Owl assistant coach from 2004-2004, while new Assistant Coach Melissa Dunne was a standout guard for Temple from 1998-2002 under both Dawn Staley and Kristen Foley.

Double the Pleasure, Double the Fun
Kamesha Hairston has scored in double figures in 25 straight games, dating back to February 19, 2006 when the then-junior posted 10 points to help the #23/22 Owls over Dayton, 70-36.
