Owls Post Season-High in Tri-Meet at Penn

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's gymnastics team tallied a season-high 187.900 and a third place finish behind Towson (192.950) and host Penn (189.875) on Saturday afternoon in Hutchinson Gym. Senior Noelle Moore (9.750) and sophomore Winter Sneed (9.750) led the Cherry and White's score of 46.500 on the balance beam.
In posting a 47.400 on the vault, junior Alycia Petitto (9.600), freshman Tiffany Shepherd (9.550) and Moore (9.550) led the Temple charge. Sophomore Nicole Catrambone (9.300) and senior co-captain Jillian Kornett (9.400) also added contributing scores.
Sophomore Nikki Berrian posted a team-high 9.550 on the uneven parallel bars while sophomore Christine McNeill steadily continues her return from last season's injury, as she added another solid routine earning a 9.325.
The Owls' event-high 47.525 in the floor exercise was once again led by the performance of Moore (9.725). Additionally, Shepherd posted a 9.625 while senior co-captain Sarah Liebowitz tallied a 9.500.
Kornett, working the all-around at each meet this season thus far, added 36.325 on Saturday.
Temple (0-5) returns to McGonigle Hall Saturday, February 3 at 12:30 p.m. for the Liberty Bell Invite Classic also featuring Penn, West Chester, Ursinus and Bridgeport.
