Ambler, PA - A Richmond goal in the 78th minute proved to be the game-winner as the Spiders beat Temple 1-0 Friday afternoon at Ambler Field. With the loss, the Owls dropped to 4-6-1 (0-2-0 in A-10), while Richmond improved to 4-7-1 (1-1-0 in A-10).

Temple controlled the game offensively in the first half, registering eight shots to Richmond's two.  The Owls were not able to capitalize on their scoring chances, however.

Both teams showed intensity in the second half with a combined 13 fouls in the period.  They continued to battle down the stretch when Richmond's Justin Grove scored on a shot to the bottom left corner of the net past a diving Tony Pratico.

Pratico, along with Richmond goalkeeper Eric Sciocchetti, recorded three saves. Pratico has now allowed just two goals in the last 420 minutes of play.

Temple will host George Washington at Ambler Field, this Sunday, at 2 p.m.
