Ambler, PA - A combined 32 fouls and 10 cards dictated the pace of 1-1 tie between Temple (4-6-2, 0-2-1 in A-10) and George Washington (8-4-1 , 2-0-1 in A-10). Freshman Brian Henderson scored Temple's only goal.
The Owls and Colonials played evenly in the first half, tallying three shots and one shot on goal, respectively. Fourteen fouls in the first half gave both teams a number of scoring chances that neither could capitalize on.
The Owls came out strong offensively in the second half registering eight shots to the Colonials' six. Both teams continued to battle with great intensity and in the 72nd minute, Henderson received a nice pass from freshman Brian Weinhardt and put it past GW goalkeeper Matt Scheer.
GW continued to battle from behind and in the 82nd minute, Mike Rollings scored on a chip-in that just went over Owls' goalkeeper Tony Pratico. The goal was set up by beautiful passes from Byron Walker and Erick Perez-Segnini.
The game would go into double overtime, but would provide no solace to either team.
Pratico had five saves in the game and has only allowed three goals in the last 530 minutes of play.
The Owls will look to earn their first A-10 win of the season as they travel to Xavier, this Friday, at 7 p.m.
