Andrew Mason Named A-10 Golf Rookie Of The Week

PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Andrew Mason has been named the Atlantic 10 Golf Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced today. The Huntingdon Valley, PA native carded a 71-78=149 (+5) to tie for ninth at the Mount St. Mary's Classic at Quail Valley GC on Saturday.
Mason was tied for the lead after 18 holes after shooting the first sub-par round of the fall season by a Temple golfer with a 71 (-1). It tied a season and career best for the Abington Friends graduate.
The Owls finished with a 36-hole score of 595 (+19) to finish five shots behind host Mount St. Mary's. It was their best two-round score of the fall by 29 strokes and the second place finish was tops since placing second at the Bucknell Invitational to start the season.
