DAYTON, OH - The Temple men's soccer team was held to just one shot on goal in falling to host Dayton, 1-0, Sunday at Baujan Field. The Owls fell to 4-8-2, 0-4-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play with the loss. The Flyers improved to 9-4-2, 3-3-0.

A second half goal by sophomore Jeff Popella in the 54th minute was the lone tally of the contest and kept Dayton unbeaten at home (6-0-0) in 2007. The Dayton defense clamped down on the Cherry and White, and thwarted an Owl offensive over the final two minutes to hold on for the win.

Temple senior keeper Tony Pratico started and made a string save on Simeon Zabprianov from 10 yards out. It was onbe of his two saves in the half. Senior Trevor Lyman replaced Pratico at halftime, a planned move heading into the contest. Lyman made one save in the match.

The Owls head back on the road next weekend for matches at Charlotte (Nov. 2) and Saint Louis (Nov. 4).
