Amess Ties For Fourth As Owls Place Eighth At Scotty Duncan

STANTON, DE - Senior Paul Amess carded his second top five finish in three fall events to lead Temple to an eighth place showing at the Scotty Duncan Memorial at White Clay Creek GC on Sunday. Amess, who tied for fourth, shot a 73 (+1) on Sunday after a 75 (+3) on Saturday to finish with a 148 for the tournament.
Temple's second round score of 309 was the sixth best of the day and helped the Owls move up from 11th after one round. TU finished with a 48-over score of 315-309-624 for the tournament.
Sophomore Eric Plisko continued his consistent play, shooting a 75-74-149 (+5) to tie for seventh place. It marked his first top 10 finish of his career.
Senior Kevin Busteed shot a pair of 79s to finish at 158 (+14). He finished tied for 35th.
Junior Adam Pifer (86-84-170, 74th) and freshman Andrew Mason (88-83-171, T-75th) rounded out the Owls lineup.
Iona and Cornell tied for the team title after eaching carding indentical scores of 292-308-600 (+24). Drexel's Sean Semenetz was the only player under par (72-71-143, -1) and won the individual title by two strokes over Bucknell's Andrew Cohen (74-71-145, +1).
The Cherry and White is back in action next weekend at the Big Five Invitational at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, PA.
