PHILADELPHIA-The NCAS Mid-Atlantic Regional Office sponsored a "Community Service Day" on September 30, 2007 at Cobb's Creek Park in West Philadelphia. Temple had over 30 student-athletes and coaches participate in the event. The teams that represented Temple were Fencing, Lacrosse, Men's Tennis, Women's Crew, and Women's Gymnastics. Also participating in the event was over 100 student-athletes from Big 5 institutions.

On this particular day, team colors did not matter as student-athletes worked side-by-side throughout the event. The student-athletes spent the day clearing trails, weeding, and cutting back overgrown tree limbs and shrubs. Cobb's Creek is a part of Philadelphia's Fairmount Park system.

The NCAS mission is "to create a better society by focusing on educational attainment and using the power and appeal of sport to positively affect social change."
