Ashley Morris Named Owlsports.com's Athlete Of The Month For November

PHILADELPHIA- After leading her team against four teams ranked in the Top 25, senior point guard Ashley Morris was named the Owlsports.com Athlete of the Month for November. This is the first time in her career that Morris has earned such an honor.
The Philadelphia native averaged 16.3 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.4 apg and nearly a 44% shooting clip against NCAA Tournament teams Georgia, Georgia Tech, Duke, Purdue and Stanford. She also became Temple's most lethal three-point shooter, going 14-of-44 from long range.
Morris began the season with a 15 point, eight assist performance in TU's big season opening win against Central Michigan. She followed that up with a then career-high 21 points and seven rebounds to help Temple nearly topple #8 Georgia. In November 18's loss to Georgia Tech, Morris netted 19 points, thanks to four-of-six shooting from behind the arc.
The senior really shined in the Paradise Jam, earning a spot on the All-Tournament after strong performances against #9 Duke, #22 Purdue and #4 Stanford. Morris scored 19 points against the Boilermakers to give Temple its first win over a Top 25 opponent since the 2005-06 season and its 10th Top 25 win overall. She then followed that up with a 19 point performance, including 13 in the first half, against #4 Stanford.
She is averaging a team-leading 17.8 ppg.
