Temple's Win Streak Snapped At Carnegie Mellon, 6-3

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Temple men's tennis team had its three-game win streak snapped with a 6-3 loss at the hands of host Carnegie Mellon Saturday afternoon at the Pittsburgh Indoor Tennis Center. The Owls (3-3) were playing without two of their top singles players, seniors Philip Gegenheimer (shoulder injury) and Daniel Davis (academic commitment). The Tartans improved to 6-1 on the season.
Temple dropped three tightly-contested doubles matches to start the afternoon. The Owls fared better at singles with sophomore Nathan Spunda winning a three-set match at the top slot while junior Zach Tobias won his second singles match, 6-3, 7-5 (10-8) over Ravi Raghavan. Freshman Gonzalo De Villa won his fourth singles match to account for Temple's final point.
The Owls complete their trip to Western Pennsylvania with a 10:00 a.m. match at Duquense Sunday.
