Temple Celebrates Hairston and Maddox With Final Home Game on Thursday Night

PHILADELPHIA- This is the second meeting between the Temple Owls and the Saint Louis Billikens. Temple leads the series, 1-0. The teams last met on February 10, 2006, when the Owls defeated the Billikens, 62-43, in Saint Louis.

Kamesha Hairston and Shenita Landry allowed Temple to continue its city and Atlantic 10 dominance with a 68-55 win over La Salle Monday. Hairston netted 17 points and grabbed a career high 16 rebounds, while Landry scored a career-high 17 points and added three blocks and two steals as the Owls captured their third straight Big Five title and improved to a perfect 10-0 in the Atlantic 10. Temple was beyond dominant on the boards, out-rebounding the Explorers, 40-22. LaKeisha Eaddy and Lady Comfort also saw double figures for Temple, adding 13 and 10 points, respectively. Ashley Morris tied a career-high, dishing six assists in just 18 minutes of play.

Hairston leads Temple in scoring and rebounding, averaging 20.1 ppg and 9.2 rpg. Comfort is second with 13.5 ppg and 6.6 rpg. Fatima Maddox is third, averaging 11.6 ppg. Eaddy continues to put up great numbers, with the guard fourth in scoring (7.0 ppg) and first in assists (96).

The Billikens swept both games last week as they tallied at least 90 points in back-to-back outings for the first time in program history. The Billikens set a school record by making 36 free throws in a 92-86 win over St. Bonaventure on Thursday. On Sunday, Amanda Kemezys poured in a career-high 22 points, while Maggie Hennegan notched a double-double with 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as the Billikens downed Fordham 90-70.

Tyler Mcllwraith leads Saint Louis in scoring, averaging 15.4 ppg, while Hennegan is tops in rebounding with 7.7 rpg. Freshman Theresa Lisch is second in scoring with 14.8 ppg, while Katie Paganelli is third with 12.2 ppg. Hennegan rounds out double figure scoring with 10.8 ppg and is second in rebounding with 7.7 rpg.

World Domination
The Owls have clearly made their mark in Atlantic 10 history by winning four of the last five Conference championships, including three in a row. Last season, the Cherry and White had its 24-Conference game winning streak snapped but Temple's A-10 domination is by no means over. TU has won 47 of its last 51 A-10 games.
