Women's Track Begins Outdoor Season At Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Sophomore Devon DuPont finished third in the long jump (17-9 3/4) and sixth in the 100m hurdles (15.75) as the Temple women's track team opened its outdoor season on Saturday at the Monmouth Season Opener. Freshman Brittney McRae also had a good day, finishing fourth in the 100m hurdles (15.58) and fourth in the long jump (17-3 1/4).
Sophomore Amanda Cole was fifth in the shot put (38-6 3/4) and 13th in the discus (99-0) for Temple. Sophomore Rose Drayton was third in the 100m dash (12.86) while classmate Jasselle Cruz finished sixth in the 400m hurdles (1:07.89).
Junior Cheryl Anscombe was fourth in the 100m (12.95) while classmate Shanice DePass was seventh in the 800m (2:20.99). The 4x400 relay (3:58.07) was second in its first showing of the season.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday at the Maryland Terrapin Invitational.
