Owls Struggle At The Knecht Cup

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ - The Temple women's crew team had a tough day Saturday at the Knecht Cup. The Owls' Second Varsity 8 was the only boat to advance out of its heat, placing fifth (11th place overall) in the Petitie Final. The Regatta, hosted by Villanova and held on the Cooper River, featured crews from over 70 universities.
The Second Varsity 8, which placed third in its heat, was comprised of Jennifer Azeles (coxswain), Lauren Fattori (stroke), Laura Altimari (7), Kate Guth (6), Brittany Sugden (5), Carolyn Bailey (4), Laura Scullin (3), Jess Hermann (2) and Nicole Wagner (bow).
The Varsity 8 finished fourth in its heat while the Lightweught 8 placed fifth in its heat, The Novice 4 was runner-up in its heat, but failed to qualify for the finals.
The Owls head back to the Cooper River next Saturday (April 21) for the Atlantic 10 Championships.
