St. Louis Edges Men's Tennis, 4-3, In A-10 Championship First Round

MONROEVILLE, PA - The Temple men's tennis team fell to #7 Saint Louis, 4-3, Thursday morning in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Owls, seeded tenth entering the tournament, will continue with a consolation match against #13 La Salle on Friday, April 6th (7:00 a.m.).
At first singles, Nathan Spunda defeated Felipe Acosta in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. Daniel Davis beat Sean McManus, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, at second singles, while Eduardo Saavedra downed Matt Gordon, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3, at the sixth spot for the Owls' final point.
The Billikens swept doubles action and went on to earn victories at the No. 3, 4, and 5 singles positions. Marcus Fadul defeated Zach Tobias in a tight match, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2, at the fourth spot. That proved to be the deciding point in the match.
