Three Temple Women's Rowers Named To Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team

Three members of the Temple University women's crew team - Rachel Jordan, Rebecca Schillinger and Jacqueline Swan - have been named to the 2006-07 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women's Rowing Team. The team is voted by the sports information offices of the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Jordan, a senior secondary education and social studies major with a 3.44 cumulative grade point average, is a three-year member of the Owls' Varsity 8 crew. A senior elementary education major with a 3.63 cumulative grade point average, Schillinger is in her first season on the varsity crew, serving as the bow on the Lightweight 8. Swan, a junior criminal justice major with a 3.64 cumulative grade point average, also rows on the Lightweight 8 crew that placed third at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
They are joined on the team by Performer of the Year Debbie Bateman of Saint Joseph's; Jill Allenbaugh, Heather Strittmatter and Eden Ginn of Drexel; Villanova's Elena McDermott and Traci Arnold of Rutgers-Camden.
