Men's Soccer Opens Season With Scoreless Tie At Navy

ANNAPOLIS, MD - Temple men's soccer opened its 2007 season with a scoreless tie against host Navy at the Naval Academy Tournament. The Owls take on UMBC Sunday at noon in their final game of the tournament.
Senior goalkeeper Tony Pratico spearheaded the Temple defense, making four saves to post his fifth career shutout, but the first by an Owl keeper since the 2005 campaign. Evan Barnes made three stops in goal for Navy.
Four newcomers - Mackenson Altidor, Jared Harris, Max Kinderwater and Hannes Egebrand - started for the Owls with a total of seven newcomers seeing action in the contest.
Navy out-shot Temple, 13-7, but each team had four shots on goal.
