Men's Soccer Drops 3-1 Decision To William & Mary

NORFOLK, VA - Freshman Alan Koger scored two quick early goals to lead William and Mary to a 3-1 win over Temple at the ODU Stihl Men's Soccer Classic Friday. The Owls fall to 2-2-1 on the season while the Tribe improves to 2-2.

Koger opened the scoring with his first career goal in the 17th minute off an assist from Doug Ernst. He tallied again in the 19th minute, off an assist from Brock Jones. to give William and Mary a 2-0 advantage.

Junior Joe Cartwright cut the deficit to 2-1, converting a penalty kick in the 41st minute. It was his first goal of the season and second of his career.

Brock scored in the 57th minute to make it 3-1 and the Tribe defense, led by keeper Andrew McAdams (3 saves), made it hold up.

Senior Trevor Lyman, making his second straight start in goal for the injured Tony Pratico, recorded six saves for the Owls.

Temple plays host Old Dominion Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
