ANNAPOLIS, MD - The Temple men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to UMBC Sunday afternoon in its final game of the Naval Academy Tournament. The Owls fall to 0-1-1 while the Terriers improved to 2-0-0.
"We have to generate some offense still. That is what we have to do," eighth-year head coach David MacWilliams said. "We are still looking to find the right combination offensively."
Phillippe Bissohong opened the scoring with a goal off a corner by Bryan Moffa in the 35th minute to give UMBC a 1-0 lead. That would account for all of the offense until the 83rd minute when UMBC countered a Temple offensive charge with a goal by Ime Umoh.
Senior keeper Tony Pratico faced 15 shots and recorded four saves for the Cherry and White. Steve King made five saves in posting the shutout.
Temple next plays Rider on Friday (4:00 p.m.) at the Drexel Tournament.
