Golf Finishes Day One At McLaughlin Invitational

FARMINGDALE, NY - The Temple men's golf team shot a 36-hole score of 584 (+24) and is in 12th place at the McLaughlin Invitational at Bethpage Red Golf Course in Farmingdale, NY. Sophomore Eric Plisko pace the Owls with a 73-70-143 (+3) and is tied for 24th place. Play concludes tomorrow at 8:30 AM with one 18-hole round.
Plisko's 70 was a collegiate best. Senior Paul Amess (72-74=146) and junior Adam Pifer (73-73=146) are tied at +6 and in 40th place.
Redshirt freshman Sasha Bozic, who was making his first collegiate appearance, rebounded from a first-round 78 to shoot a 72 in the afternoon. He is tied for 66th place. Freshman Andrew Mason, the reigning A-10 Rookie of the Week, carded a 77-76=153 (+13) and stands tied for 82nd.
Eleven players are at par or better, including West Florida's Kyle Scott (-8). The leader in the clubhouse after 36 holes, Scott shot 67-65=132 to lead Johnson & Wales' Dave Tobon by four strokes.
Host St. John's and West Florida are tied at 556 (-4). Johnson & Wales is 12 shots back with a two-round score of 568 (+8).
