Sneed Leads Women's Gymnastics at Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - Junior Winter Sneed captured first place in the floor exercise to lead the women's gymnastics squad at Ursinus on Friday.
Sneed scored a 9.850 in the floor exercise, just besting the 9.825 scored by Towson's Christiana Ghani.
Despite the great individual performance by Sneed, the Owls finished third in the three team event. The Cherry and White finished the evening with a total score of 183.025. Towson finished in first with a score of 191.625. Host Ursinus finished second with a score of 185.150.
Several other gymnasts for the Cherry an White finished with top ten performances. Senior Desiree Meredith finished third in the balance beam with a score of 9.600. Freshmen Katie Canning finished fifth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.575. Junior Nikki Berrian placed sixth in the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.475.
The Owls return to action next Wednesday when they travel to New Jersey to take on Rutgers. Action is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
