Charlotte, N.C.- Temple's defense held strong but Whitney Wienraub put Charlotte on top when she netted a goal just nine minutes from the end of regulation to give the 49ers a 1-0 victory on Friday night. The Owls fall to 2-7-3 overall, 0-2-2 in the A-10. Owl goalkeeper Kara Williams was relentless, earning five saves as the 49ers peppered 15 shots toward her goal. The Temple defense held strong throughout the match, making Charlotte woeek for every shot. The owls return to action on Sunday at Saint Louis at 1 p.m.
