Women's Crew Opens Season At Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's crew opened its 2008-09 slate at the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River Saturday. The Owls rowed three eights in the regatta.
The Owls Varsity 8, comprised of coxswain Jill Ploof, Laura Altimari (stroke), Mary Webster (7-seat), Bailey Chick (6-seat), Kendra Dickenson (5-seat), Brynn Moore (4-seat), Laura Scullin (3-seat), Dana DiPentino (2-seat), and Megan Silk (bow), placed seventh of 12 shells in the women's college eight event.
The Dad Vail 8, comprised of coxswain Maureen McDermitt, Megan Hanlin (stroke), Nicole Wagner (7-seat), Jessica Herrman (6-seat), Molly Peach (5-seat), Carolyn Bailey (4-seat), Amy Shrader (3-seat), Allison Boc (2-seat) and Kayla Heston (bow), finished fourth of nine in its event.
The junior varsity 8, comprised of coxswain Isabella Bourbon, Dana Meadows (stroke), Courtney Wall (7-seat), Caitlin Pennington (6-seat), Allison Bates (5-seat), Meagan Rudge (4-seat), Danielle Scheetz (3-seat), Colleen Bianco (2-seat), and Sarah Cadman (bow), finished eighth of 11 boats.
The owls next take to the water at the Head of the Schuylkill on October27.
