AMBLER, PA- After being on the road for over a month, the Temple men's soccer team opened a stretch of five straight home matches to close out the season with a 2-0 win over rival Saint Joseph's Saturday while playing through heavy rain at the Ambler Sports Complex. The Owls improved to 7-4-3 overall and into a tie for second place in the A-10 standings with a 3-1-1 record.

It took the Owls over 70 minutes to find the comforts of home. The team struggled offensively in the first half against the Hawks (3-6-2, 0-4-0), but the conditions, that included constant rain, heavy at times, and strong wind gusts, factored into the play.

Junior midfielder Matt Chevrollier broke the scoreless tie in the 73rd minute with a blast from 25 yards out. Chevrollier's game-winner, his first goal of the season, found the top left corner of the net off an assist from junior midfielder Francois Sagna.

The Owls added an insurance goal when team assist leader J.T. Noone set up sophomore Brian Weinhardt for a header from five yards out. Noone has an A-10-leading eight assists on the season, and tops the team in points with 18.

Sophomore Keeper Bret Mollon posted two saves, notching his seventh shutout of the season

The Cherry and White continue their conference home stand next Friday, when they square off with Dayton at 3:00 p.m.
