Women's Crew Competes At Head Of The Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's crew raced four shells at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Saturday, October 25. The Owls rowed through heavy rain and high winds with their top boat placing 11th of 17 at the Open Heavy Championship event.
The Owls rowed two shells in the Open Heavy Championship. Their top boat was comprised of coxswain Jill Ploof, Laura Altimari (stroke), Mary Webster (7-seat), Megan Hanlin (6-seat), Laura Scullin (5-seat), Bailey Chick (4-seat), Laura Scullin (3-seat), Brynn Moore (2-seat) and Megan Silk (bow). Temple's other eight competing in the Open Championship placed 15th. That boat was comprised of coxswain Maureen McDermitt, Megan Hanlin (stroke), Nicole Wagner (7-seat), Jessica Herrman (6-seat), Molly Peach (5-seat), Carolyn Bailey (4-seat), Amy Shrader (3-seat), Allison Boc (2-seat) and Kayla Heston (bow),
The Dad Vail 8, comprised of coxswain Maureen McDermitt, Dana Meadows (stroke), Nicole Wagner (7-seat), Dana DiPentino (6-seat), Kendra Dickenson (5-seat), Carolyn Bailey (4-seat), Amy Shrader (3-seat), Allison Boc (2-seat) and Kayla Heston (bow).
The Owls competed in the Open Club 8 with their shell, comprised of coxswain Erin Buchanan, Caitlin Pennington (stroke), Courtney Wall (7-seat), Meagan Rudge (6-seat), Danielle Scheetz (5-seat), Nicole Miller (4-seat), Allison Bates (3-seat), Colleen Bianco (2-seat), and Sarah Cadman (bow), finishing 21st of 28 boats.
Temple's freshman/novice 8 placed 20th of 36 boats.
The owls end their fall season at the Philadelphia Frostbite Regatta (Nov. 11) and the Bill Braxton Regatta (Nov. 12). Both are held on the Schuylkill River.
