PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior midfielder J.T. Noone has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Men's Soccer Academic All-District 2 University Division First Team. The team is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Noone will now be placed on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America ballot. The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America teams will be announced on November 19.
An economics major, Noone has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.88 for his college career, making the Dean's List every semester as well as the Atlantic 10 Conference Honor Roll. He also was named to the President's Honor Roll at the University's 2007 Breakfast of Champions.
A three-year starter, Noone leads the Owls and the Atlantic 10 Conference with eight assists, one shy of the school's single season record. The Harrisburg, Pa. native (Central Dauphin), also has tallied five goals for a team-high 18 points, ranking fourth in scoring in the conference with 1.29 points per game.
Noone has helped lead the Owls to their best start (7-4-3, 3-1-0 in A-10 play) since 2003. Temple currently is tied for second in the A-10 with four matches remaining.
