Volleyball Ends Regular Season With 3-1 Loss to George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The Temple women's volleyball team dropped a hard-fought match to Atlantic 10 East leader George Washington, 3-1, (18-25, 27-29, 29-27, 22-25), on Sunday afternoon. The Owls finish the regular season with a 15-13 overall record, 6-7 in the Conference and tied for second in the A-10 East.
Yun Yi Zhang fought hard to keep her team in the match, notching a double-double of 26 kills and 18 digs. Patricia Vernon had 15 kills, while Jackie Morrison dished 60 assists. Ariel Pierre and Caitlin Loudon had 21 and 11 digs, respectively.
The Colonials used a .276 hitting clip to complete the season sweep of the Owls. Temple did not give up easily, however, pushing the home team to extra points in sets two and three. The Cherry and White finished with a .226 hitting percentage.
Temple next travels to the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saint Louis, November 21-23.
