PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's basketball team (3-1) takes on its second Top 25 team of the season when it hosts #13 Rutgers (2-2) on Monday night. This is the 42nd meeting between Temple and Rutgers, with Rutgers leading the series, 32-9. The teams last met on December 30, 2007 and RU defeated the Owls, 70-34.

Tonight's game can be seen live on CBS College Sports Television with Greg Amsinger and Debbie Antonelli having the call. The contest can also be heard on 1210 AM WPHT with Kristen Foley and Joe Heyer detailing all the action.

Against Ranked Teams
Temple is 11-80 all-time against ranked teams. Last season, the un-ranked Owls knocked off two teams in the Top 25. The Cherry and White pulled off a 68-66 upset of #13 George Washington and defeated #20/22 Purdue, 61-47.

Sibling Rivalry
Temple and Rutgers have quite a storied rivalry. In the 2004-05 season, Rutgers gave Temple its first win over a ranked opponent in 18 years and then returned the favor by knocking the Owls out of the NCAA Tournament Second Round and ending their 25-game winning streak. In the 2005-06 season, it was Temple's time to shine, as the then #21 Owls defeated the then #9 Scarlet Knights, 48-47, for TU's first win over a Top 10 opponent. The victory also ended a RU 20-home game winning streak.

BLock Party
Temple posted 12 blocks in Saturday's win over Hampton, led by the senior duo of Shenita Landry and Shanea Cotton with a career-high four blocks a piece.

Temple opened a five-game homestand with its third win of the season with a 79-50 shellacking of winless Hampton on Saturday. Lindsay Kimmel opened the game with her signature three to begin a 7-0 run. Hampton responded with a 7-2 run to tie the game at 9-9. After a 15-15 tie, LaKeisha Eaddy made the first of two treys to put the Owls ahead by double digits, and they never looked back. TU built its lead to 17 points at intermission, 44-27. In the second half, Temple increased its lead. Marli Bennett converted a lay-up to give the Owls a 20-point edge. Kimmel nailed another three to complete a 10-0 run. TU finished with a 29-point victory.

Eaddy leads four Owls in double figures with 14ppg and 20 assists. Shenita Landry is averaging a double-double of 12.7 ppg and 11.3 rpg, while Shanea Cotton is chipping in with 12.8 ppg. Shaqwedia Wallace is averaging 10.8 ppg.

13th-ranked Rutgers is coming off back-to-back losses to Cal and Stanford, both of which are ranked in the Top 10 in the nation. In the 81-47 loss to Stanford on November 23, Brittany Ray led RU scorers with 17 points and three assists. Kia Vaughn had 10 point for the Scarlet Knights.

Epiphanny Prince leads three players in double figures with 15.5 ppg. April Sykes and Brittany Ray are both chipping in with 10.3 ppg, while Kia Vaughn has a team-high 6.3 rpg.
