Cole Leads Women's Indoor Track at Season Opening Jack Pyrah Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa - Senior Amanda Cole won the women's shot put (42-5 1/4) and broke the meet and Temple record in women's weight throw (54-9 1/2) to help lead the Temple women's indoor track team at the season opening Jack Pyrah Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Cole, who meet ECAC qualify in both events, was just one of four Owls to finish in first place for the Cherry and White at nearby Haverford College. Sophomore Brittney McRae won the women's long jump and also broke a meet record and met ECAC qualifying standards (19-0). Talitha Smith won the women's high jump (5-3) while sophomore Paris Williams finished first in the women's 300 meter ().
Also with an impressive opening meet performance for the Cherry and White was senior Devon DuPont, who finished second in the women's 55 meters (7.34), second in the long jump (18-7 3/4), also beating the previous meet record and meeting ECAC qualifying) and third in the 55 meter hurdles (8.44).
The Owls are back in action after the semester break with the Metropolitan Invite on January 9th in New York.
