PHILADELPHIA-The Temple women's basketball team (4-3) closes out its 2008 home schedule on Wednesday night, hosting Toledo (3-5) at 7 p.m. in the Liacouras Center. This is the second meeting between Temple and Toledo. Temple won the only meeting, 61-51, on November 26, 2006.

Scouting the Owls
Temple mounted a second-half comeback against Florida State, but the Owls couldn't overcome a double-digit deficit in a 86-67 loss to the Seminoles on Sunday. Plagued by poor shooting and foul trouble, the Owls only scored 17 points by halftime, their lowest output in the first stanza this season. TU shot a mere 21 percent from the floor, including 0-7 from three-point range, and had 14 turnovers. Starters Shanea Cotton and Shenita Landry got into early foul trouble and sat out while their younger teammates took charge on the floor. Florida State led by 28 points at intermission, 45-17. LaKeisha Eaddy led the Owls with 16 points and Kristen McCarthy scored a career-high 14 points. Kristie Watkins-Day followed with a career-high 11 points, while Cotton finished with 10 points.

Cotton leads four Owls in double figures with 12.9 ppg, while Landry is second with 12.1 ppg and a team-high 8.9 rpg. Eaddy is third with 11.6 ppg and a team-high 30 assists and Shaqwedia Wallace rounds out the double figure scorers with 11.2 ppg.

Scouting the Rockets
Toledo is coming off a 68-60 victory over North Dakota on Saturday. UT posted season highs in assists (16) and steals (14), as well as converted four more three-point field goals than the Fighting Sioux to snap a five-game losing skid. Jessica Williams led the Midnight Blue and Gold with a career-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Melissa Goodall added 14 points with a career-best 16 rebounds, while Allie Clifton had 11 points and 10 boards in the winning effort.

Naama Shafir leads two Rockets in double figures with 14.8 ppg and a team-high 27 assists. Tanika Mays is second with 11.1 ppg and a team-best 6.6 rpg.

Diaper Dandy
Freshman Kristen McCarthy has had quite an impressive debut in her first seven collegiate games. In the game against Bowling Green (11/14), McCarthy made an impact on both sides of the ball, posting three defensive rebounds, four points and one assist in 14 minutes of action. At Auburn (11/17), she scored eight points and had five rebounds in 13 minutes, while at Illinois (11/23), she filled up the stat sheet with three steals, four points, two assists and two boards. Against #15 Rutgers (12/1), McCarthy impressed television audiences with six points, five boards and a game-high four steals. In Sunday's game against Florida State, she saw double figures for the first time, scoring 14 points and adding four rebounds.

Temple vs. the MAC
Temple is 9-2 against Mid-American Conference teams, with its only losses coming against Bowling Green on November 24, 2006 and Miami (OH) on January 2, 2008.

Spreading the Love
Four players scored in double figures in Nov. 14th's 70-55 win over Bowling Green and 12/7's 86-67 loss to Florida State, led by LaKeisha Eaddy's 16 in both games. Prior to this season, the last time that four players were in double figures was in 2005 when TU stars Candice Dupree, Ari Moore, Cynthia Jordan, Kamesha Hairston and Jennifer Owens, led Temple to the 2005 Atlantic 10 Championship over George Washington.

Looking Ahead
Following tonight's game, the Owls enbark on a six-game road trip that begins at Villanova on December 20th and ends at Saint Joseph's on January 11.
