Women's Gymnastics Finish Third at Towson

TOWSON, Md. - The Temple women's gymnastics team finished third out of five teams while competing in the 23rd annual Shelli Calloway Memorial Invitational Meet at Towson University on Friday night.
Competing for the first time since a second place finish at the Liberty Classic, the Owls (6-10) finished the evening with a final score of 188. 275. That was good enough top Penn (187.900) and Ursinius (184.65). Host Towson won the competition (192.550) while Cornell took second place (190.525)
Two Owls registered top six performances at the event. Junior Natasha Crawford finished fifth on the beam with a score of 9.50, just .125 behind first place. Senior Desiree Meredith finished sixth in the vault with a score of 9.675.
The Owls are back in action on Saturday, March 1st, when they travel to cross-town rival Penn. Action is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
