Colonials Topple Owls in Atlantic 10 Matchup

2.18.08 | Men's Tennis

Feb. 18, 2008

The men's tennis team dropped a tough game against nationally ranked George Washington on Sunday night. Despite the 4-0 score line, the Owls were a few points away from really making things interesting.

The doubles matches on Sunday were very close with GW taking No. 1 and 2 doubles by scores of 8-5 and 8-4, respectively. Zach Tobias and Pavlos Stephanides were leading the No. 3 doubles match 6-4 before the match was stopped because the Owls had already conceded the doubles point.

The Colonials took the first three singles matches which put the match out of reach for the Owls. Stephanides and Andrew Choi were winning their matches while Tobias was only a point behind in the third set.

"We put up a good fight, the matches were a lot closer than the scores indicate and we're looking forward to getting back at it against Fairfield." That match will be played at Fairfield on Friday with a 7:30 PM start time.
