Temple Women's Basketball Captures 65-46 Win Over Fordham

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's basketball captured it third straight win with a 65-46 win over Fordham at the Liacouras Center on Saturday afternoon.

Temple improved to 17-11 overall and 10-2 in A-10 action, good for first place in the conference standings. Fordham fell to 0-27 overall and 0-12 in the A-10.

Temple jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but Fordham rallied back to tie, 6-6. The Rams then took their only lead of the game, 8-6 before the Owls went on a 6-0 run to lead 14-8. Temple went on a 13-4 run to take a double-digit lead, 27-17. TU led by as many as 15 points and entered the locker room with a 13-point edge, 38-25.

In the second half, Temple pushed its lead to as many as 22 points while playing its bench.

Senior Lady Comfort led the Owls with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Junior Shanea Cotton and sophomore LaKeisha Eaddy added 10 points each.

Annie Zopf was the high scorer for Fordham with 16 points. Megan Mahoney added 13 points.

Temple shot 50 percent (26-52) from the field, while holding Fordham to 32 percent (18-56). TU out-rebounded the Rams, 41-31. Both team had 19 turnovers.

Temple travels to St. Louis on Wednesday, Feb. 27 for its last road game of the regular season. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. EST.
