Amess, Bozic Earn Atlantic 10 Golf Awards

PHILADELPHIA - Temple junior Paul Amess and freshman Sasha Bozic have been named the Atlantic 10 Golfer and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. Amess carded the sixth-best single round in Temple history, a five-under 67 to finish second while Bozic was seventh overall in the 42-player field at the SIU Edwardsville Cougar Classic.
Amess fired a 75-67=142 (-2) in the Owls' season opener at the PGA Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. His career-best 67 was the best single round by a Temple player since Billy Mullen shot a 66 on October 10, 2004. The Stevenage, England native leads the team with a 74.1 scoring average.
Bozic also recorded a career-best, shooting a 71 (-1), in round one. He carded an 81 to finish with a 71-81=152 (+8) to place seventh. Bozic is third on the team with a 76.2 scoring average.
Temple is currently in Williamsburg, VA playing in the William and Mary Invitational. Round one is on Monday with the final round on Tuesday.
