Cole, Cowart Earn Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Awards

PHILADELPHIA - Junior Amanda Cole and freshman Assata Cowart have been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Outdoor Track Performer and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced. Cole set a new school record and met ECAC standards in the weight throw with a distance of 173-3.

The New Castle, DE native won the event by over 30 feet at the season-opening Towson Invitational. She was also sixth in the discus (113-6).

Cowart won the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:03.44. She was just .80 seconds from ECAC qualifying.

Temple returns to action this weekend at the Raleigh Relays at NC State.
