Women's Gymnastics Finishes Fifth at ECAC Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Junior Christine McNeill was honored as the ECAC Specialist of the Year and the Temple women's gymnastics team finished in 5th place at the ECAC Championships with a score of 190.825. The fifth place marks the second consecutive season that the Owls placed fifth in the competition.
Towson University took home first place with a score 193.95, while Rhode Island and Cornell finished close behind with scores of 192.225 and 192.075 respectively.
Competing for the final time in a Cherry and White uniform, senior Desiree Meredith was the top performer for the Owls on the day. She took home fifth place on the floor exercise with a score of 9.800 and finished in seventh place on the vault with a score of 9.700.
Junior Nina Oteri also continued her late season surge, taking home fourth place on the balance beam with a score 9.825, a team-high score, and finishing sixth on the floor with a score of 9.750. McNeill finished ninth on the vault with a score of 9.625 and also took home tenth place on the parallel bars with a score of 9.625.
