PHILADELPHIA, PA - Coming off a big win at St. Peter's, the men's tennis team lost 4-0 to Drexel on Sunday night. The Dragons took two of three doubles matches to take the doubles point. The match was called after the Owls lost the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles matches, bringing the score to an insurmountable 4-0.
The loss brings the Owls record to 4-8. The win was the fifth in a row for the Dragons which brings their record to 5-4. Temple hopes to rebound next week against previously nationally ranked Binghamton.
"It was a disappointing loss, especially coming off a good win against St. Peter's last week," said head coach Steve Mauro. "All we can do is look ahead and hope to have a good performance against Binghamton."
The Bearcats are 3-6 and have played two nationally ranked opponents. The Owls will face Binghamton in their last match at Cheltenham Tennis Courts this season on Sunday, March 9. The remainder of the Owls home matches (March 14, 15 and 28) will be held at the Temple Pavilion on campus.
