PHILADELPHIA, PA - After losing five-straight games the Temple men's tennis team was able to turn it around today in impressive fashion. The Owls swept the Rams in all matches with only one singles match taking three sets to determine a winner. With the win, Temple improves to 5-12 on the year.
"It was a great team effort today, especially after losing to Xavier on Friday," said head coach Steve Mauro. "The team really took it upon themselves to turn things around and get back on the winning track."
Junior Eduardo Saavedra was especially impressive today despite ailing from a stomach virus. After being shut out in his first set he came back and reversed the scoreline in the second set. Saavedra was able to stick it out and dominate the third set, 6-2 and get a point for the Owls.
The Owls will look to win a second match in as many days when they travel up Broad Street to take on the Explorers of La Salle. The match will start at 3:30 p.m.
