Women's Gymnastics Finishes Third in Session at USAG Championships

SHREVPORT, La - Junior Christie McNeill finished tied for second place on the vault, helping the Temple women's gymnastics team post a score of 188.850 while competing at the USAG Championships at the Centenary College yesterday evening. The Owls finished third among all teams in the first session, which means that the Cherry and White failed to qualify for the finals on Friday evening.

Towson finished first in the session with a score of 193.200, followed by Cornell (192.150), and Air Force (188.60), which finished in fourth place behind the Owls.

McNeill was the top individual performer on the day with her second place finish on the vault with a score of 9.700. She was followed closely by juniors Nina Oteri and Natasha Crawford, as both finished tied for third on the beam (9.700). Junior Winter Sneed also finished tied for third in the floor exercise with a score of 9.800.

The Owls return to action on Saturday when several individual members of the team will look to take home medals at the USAG Individual Championships
