Golf Tied For Third After 36 Holes At Mount St. Mary's Invitational

LITTLESTOWN, PA - Freshman Andrew Mason carded a career-low and 68 (-4) in the second round on Friday as the Temple golf team is tied for third after 36 holes at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational at Quail Valley Golf Club. Mason shot a 75-68=143 (-1) and is tied for eighth place in the 95-player field. His 68 is the best-ever round by a Temple freshman in the program's illustrious history.
The Owls shot a 303-290=593 (+17) and are 18 shots back of first place Longwood. Army (297-294=591) is two shots ahead of Temple in second.
Redshirt freshman Sasha Bozic is tied for 23rd place after shooting a 77-72=149 (+5). Junior Paul Amess recorded a 78-72=150 (+6) and is tied for 27th
Sophomore Eric Plisko (75-79=154) and freshman Joseph Kim (76-78=154) are tied for 46th with +10 scores. The Owls' second round score of 290 is the lowest team score this spring and the second lowest of the season (289, The McLaughlin).
Mount St. Mary's Ray Hyre, playing as an individual, leads the field after two rounds with a 68-71=139 (-5).
Play resumes on Saturday morning at the par 72, 7,027-yard course.
