Anscombe Meets ECAC Standards In Two Events At Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ - Senior Cheryl Anscombe met ECAC standards in the 200m and 400m to lead Temple at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University on Saturday. Anscombe ran a time of 24.63 in the 200m to finish fourth and 56.30 in the 400m to place third. Freshman Assata Cowart also met ECAC standards in the 400m hurdles (1:02.05), finishing third.
Two Owls won individual events - freshmen Rebecca Mims (1500m, 4:46.88) and Tashima Stephens (800m, 2:16.73). Junior Carlleen Allison placed sixth in the 400m (57.21) and ninth in the 200m (25.05), while classmate Rose Drayton was eighth in the 200m (25.02) and ninth in the 100m (12.58).
Freshman Selena Haggins was seventh in the long jump (17-6), while Sequoia McBall finished seventh in the high jump (5-1) and eighth in the triple (37-3 3/4). Freshman Abigail Blomeke was seventh in the high jump (5-1) as well.
In the throws, sophomore Daisy Amato was eighth in the javelin (105-0).
Temple returns to the oval on Thursday at the Penn Relays.
